Description
Technical & Manufacturing Relevance:
Borago officinalis (borage) seed oil is one of the richest natural sources of GLA and is widely used in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and medical nutrition formulations. GLA supports anti-inflammatory eicosanoid pathways via DGLA. Borage oil is commonly incorporated into products targeting joint and inflammatory balance, skin barrier function and atopic conditions, women’s health (PMS and menopausal comfort), cardiovascular and lipid wellness, nerve health, and immune modulation. Due to high unsaturation, oxidation control and encapsulation are critical in manufacturing.
Applicable Dosage Forms:
Softgels, Capsules, Liquid oils, Emulsions, Powders (microencapsulated), Women’s health and skin-support formulations
Pharmacopoeial / Quality Notes:
Supplied as standardized borage seed oil with defined fatty-acid profile (GLA assay) and low peroxide/anisidine values. Manufactured in compliance with USP/EP/BP-aligned or equivalent quality standards, with control on pesticides, heavy metals, pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA-free specification), and oxidation markers. Suitable for FSSAI food & nutraceutical products and pharmaceutical applications (claims as per local regulations).
Manufacturing Support:
We provide bulk raw material sourcing, cold-pressed vs. refined oil selection, PA-free and GLA-standardized grades, oxidation-stability and microencapsulation support, formulation customization, and contract/third-party manufacturing with complete COA, MSDS, stability, fatty-acid profile, microbial & heavy-metal documentation, enabling easy resale and worldwide distribution in compliance with destination-country requirements.
