HomeOral Dispersible Films

Potent ODF Manufacturing Solution

Introduction

We specialize in oral dispersible films that dissolve rapidly in the mouth without water, offering precise dosing, improved bioavailability, and consumer-friendly convenience. Ideal for nutraceuticals, herbal actives, and dietary supplements, ODFs provide an innovative alternative. Our films are designed for buccal and sublingual absorption, bypassing first-pass metabolism to deliver fast and effective systemic results, while also supporting localized applications when required.

    Key Advantages

Rapid Dissolution- ODF technology allows quick disintegration without water, making it convenient for on-the-go use and improving consumer compliance.

Precision Dosing- Each film ensures consistent content uniformity, supporting accurate delivery of micro-doses for sensitive actives.

Enhanced Bioavailability- With buccal and sublingual absorption pathways, ODFs may reduce first-pass metabolism, supporting efficient nutrient delivery.

Discreet & User-Friendly- A thin, easy-to-administer format, suitable for individuals who struggle with swallowing tablets or capsules, including children and older adults.

Brand Differentiation- Position your products with an innovative, premium delivery format that strengthens consumer appeal and market competitiveness.

    Types of Oral Dispersible Films

    Systemic ODFs
    • Formulated for rapid dissolution and absorption through the oral mucosa for systemic effect.
    • Vitamins (B12, D3), Melatonin, Caffeine, Energy blends, Cognitive enhancers.
    Oral-E ODFs
    • Designed to release ingredients in the oral cavity for local action.
    • Sore throat relief, breath fresheners, oral health (e.g., Vitamin K2 + D3), nicotine cessation.
    Multi-Layer ODFs
    • Advanced films with separate layers to isolate incompatible ingredients or control release profiles.
    • Complex formulations requiring separation of actives.

    Packaging, Labeling & Special Content

    Complete Packaging
    • Unit-Dose Pouches: The only standard for ODFs. Each film is individually sealed in a high-barrier, multi-layer laminate pouch (typically PET/ALU/PE). This is mandatory to protect the hygroscopic film from moisture, which would cause it to stick, dissolve, or degrade.
    • Pouch Material: Must provide excellent oxygen and moisture barrier properties.
    • Folding Cartons: Boxes designed to hold multiple unit-dose pouches (e.g., 10, 30 films per box). Must be child-resistant as required.
    Design & Mandatory Content:
    • Mandatory Content: Product Name, Net Quantity (25mg, 1 Film), Batch Number, Manufacturing & Expiry Date, Full Ingredients, Name & Address, License No., Clear Usage Instructions
    • Technical Details: Often states "Oral Dissolvable Film," "Rapidly Dissolving," and flavour.
    • Special Content: "No Water Needed," "Fast-Acting," "Discrete," "Great Minty Fresh Taste!", "Sublingual for Maximum Absorption," QR Codes.

    Oral Dispersible Films Manufacturing Process

    In-Process Control

Dispensing- All raw materials are accurately weighed and verified, with details recorded in the Dispensing Record to ensure traceability and compliance.

Casting Solution Preparation- Polymers are dissolved in water to form a uniform, viscous base. Active ingredients, flavors, and excipients are carefully added and mixed under controlled conditions to produce a homogeneous, de-aerated solution.

Casting- The prepared solution is applied onto a moving release-lined surface at a controlled thickness, ensuring consistency across the film sheet.

Drying- The wet film passes through a multi-zone drying oven, where carefully managed temperature and airflow remove moisture, creating a solid, flexible film without compromising stability.

Slitting & Cutting- Once dried, the film is precisely slit and die-cut into defined widths, shapes, and sizes, ready for packaging and distribution.

Documentation- Every critical parameter—such as solution viscosity, drying temperature, and line speed—is logged in the Equipment Log and Batch Manufacturing Record, ensuring complete process accountability and audit readiness.
