Types of Lozenges We Manufacture
Compressed Lozenges
- Made by compressing powder into a hard, slow-dissolving tablet using high pressure. Similar to tablets but harder and with different excipients.
- Zinc lozenges for immune support, vitamin C lozenges, herbal extracts
Boiled Lozenges
- Made by creating a supersaturated sugar solution cooked to a high temperature and cooled into a glassy, amorphous solid.
- Soothing throat drops, delivery of vitamins, energy lozenges. Pleasant taste is a key feature.
Herbal Lozenges
- Traditional forms often incorporating powdered herbs into a base. We modernize these with precise dosing and QC.
- Licorice (Mulethi) for throat, Propolis, Ayurvedic blends.
Lozenge Manufacturing Process
In-Process Control
- Dispensing: Precise weighing of all components.
- Compressed Lozenges: Powder blending followed by high-force compression to create a very hard tablet.
- Hard Candy Lozenges: Isomaltose is cooked to a precise temperature to achieve the correct moisture content and glass state. The mass is cooled, flavours/actives are mixed.
- Cooling & Conditioning: Critical for candy types to set properly and prevent sticking.
Packaging & Labelling
- Counting & Filling: Automated vision counters or weight-based fillers ensure the exact number of lozenges per pack.
- Desiccant Insertion: For bottle packing, a silica gel pouch is mandatory for moisture absorption.
- Sealing: Bottles receive induction sealing and capping. Blisters are heat-sealed. Labels are applied accurately.
- Label Reconciliation: A rigorous GMP process to ensure 100% labelling accuracy.
